Prosthodontics is the dental specialty that treats patients with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues to obtain optimal oral health and esthetics with the use of dental implants, dentures, veneers, crowns, and teeth whitening. Through diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance, a prosthodontist can improve the oral function, comfort, appearance, and health of a patient.

Treatments

Crowns & Bridge

Crowns and bridges are known as fixed prosthodontic restorations. A crown is a restoration which is used to restore a tooth that has a large filling or has fractured. Crowns can be made out of gold, porcelain-fused-to-metal, or all-ceramic materials. A bridge is a restoration that can be used to replace a missing tooth. A bridge involves crowning the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth. Bridges can be made out of gold or porcelain-fused-to-metal.

The most commonly used ceramics for Crowns and Bridges are; ZIRCONIA, LAVA, E-MAX CROWN, FULL CERAMIC, METAL CERAMIC, PARTIALLY FACING METAL CERAMIC CROWNS, etc.

Cast Partial Denture

Cast partial dentures are for old age group patients for multiple tooth missing situation it can be removed and fixed by the patients itself.

Complete Dentures

Dentures, also known as false teeth, are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth; they are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable. However, there are many different denture designs, some which rely on bonding or clasping onto teeth or dental implants. There are two main categories of dentures, the distinction being whether they are used to replace missing teeth on the mandibular arch or on the maxillary arch.

Removable Partial Dentures

A removable partial denture (RPD) is a denture for a partially edentulous patient who desires to have replacement teeth for functional or aesthetic reasons and who cannot have a bridge (a fixed partial denture) for any number of reasons, such as a lack of required teeth to serve as support for a bridge (i.e. distal abutments) or due to financial limitations.
