Implantology

Implantology treatment is for replacement of missing teeth, bridge and full or partial dentures, although they address the short term cosmetic problem of the missing teeth, they do nothing to stop the bone loss in the area of missing teeth.

Bridge requires two or more healthy teeth to be reduced in size to serve as pillars (abutments) for a Bridge, leaving them at a much greater risk for cavities and Root Canal Treatment.

With implants, the healthy teeth are not ground and they transmit the chewing forces to the jaw thereby halting bone loss.

Many leading dental organizations recognize dental implants as the standard of care for tooth replacement.

Treatments

Conventional Implants

What are Dental Implants? Dental Implant treatment is the replacement of missing tooth roots with supportive posts. It is usually made of titanium and can be used to replace single tooth, several teeth or for the complete reconstruction of a collapsed mouth. Titanium is the most bio-compatible material we know and once placed, it fuses with the jaw bone in a period of 3-6 Months.

Immediate Implants

Immediate implants are an increasingly common strategy to preserve bone and reduce treatment times which includes the placement of a dental implant into a recent extraction site. On the one hand, it shortens treatment time and can improve esthetics because the soft tissue envelope is preserved.
